This is your chance for your poem to be published in Northants in the First World War.


Whether it was famous poets such as Wilfred Owen or Rupert Brooke, or soldiers jotting down their thoughts and emotions in their scrapbooks, poetry played a powerful role in the war.

A competition has been launched across the county encouraging budding poets to submit their entries. Here are the rules:

Submit entries to: poetry@northamptonww1.co.uk

Closing date for submissions: 28th February 2019

There will be two competitions and two winners:
- One from a school's only category
- One for all age groups

Stanza limit: No more than 40 lines.

Theme: Must have a Northamptonshire theme/reference.

PRIZE

- Winners will have their poems published in 'Northants in the First World War'

- Signed copy of book
