Hello! Some of you - particularly those in Northampton - may have seen me but for those who haven't, my name is Mikesh and I started with Stagecoach Midlands as a commercial trainee in January 2016.

After graduating in summer 2014, I decided I'd try to do something a bit different and began research into the First World War and the effect on Northampton / Northamptonshire. At the time, I wanted to produce a simple small booklet detailing interesting things that had happened. I certainly didn't expect that the research would become so detailed. However, the more I read the larger the booklet became until I resolved on writing a book.

I've come across some really amazing stories; from the bravery of the Northamptonshire Regiment on the Western Front to how the local press catalogued the changing mood of the town, I'm determined that the book will
